Kindergarten Studies ♥ Language Arts, continually builds on the foundation built in Preschool. This sets the stage for the children to master skills such as reading, writing, spelling, dictionary skills, poetry, penmanship and handwriting, also portions of speech and grammar. Each skill builds on another, and forms a platform which leads to an easy integration with further subjects. Writing a research project on Ancient Egypt or explaining how a math equation was solved can be easily reached as a result. ♥ Mathematics, everything in our world somehow relates to mathematics. Being able to apply math skills in areas such as language, art and sensory experiences are most beneficial. Building on skills learned in preschool, four operations are taught in detail; addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. A rational portion of curriculum is devoted to Geometry, such as Geometry Cabinet, Constructive Triangle Boxes, Nomenclature Cards. Also included are fractions and factors of multiples. ♥ Physical & Cultural Geography, in our Geography curriculum we look at the formation of the Earth, its place in the Solar System, its atmosphere, weather, seasons and its various land and water. We also look at demonstrating these features through the use of maps, finding lines of longitude and latitude and understanding the compass. A major component of this curriculum is the study of continents, countries, and cultures.
